Artist Tara Bell at Lowie - Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026 -  11-5pm

One of our favourite things about spring in South London is pottering around Dulwich Artists’ Open House, when homes, studios and local spaces across Dulwich, Herne Hill, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Peckham open their doors to showcase the incredible work of local artists and makers. It’s a chance to cheekily check out other people's houses and makers studios and of course to view and appreciate the art.

On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May, Lowie will be hosting artist Tara Bell, with a special display of her work outside in our shop courtyard. Although not officially on the program as part of Dulwich Festival’s Open House, she's tagged along the trail.  Between 4-5pm on Saturday there will also be wine and cheese!

Tara grew up in Belfast, surrounded by the landscapes of Belfast Lough and Strangford Lough, experiences that continue to shape her perspective and creative practice. She studied Fine Art in Glasgow and Oxford, and now works in London, creating drawings and paintings that explore themes of modern conflict and care.

Tara’s work sits beautifully alongside the things we love most at Lowie — thoughtful design, joyful colour, and pieces made with care — so we’re incredibly excited to share her work with our community for the weekend.

We love how Artists’ Open House transforms familiar neighbourhood spaces into places of discovery. There’s something special about stepping into a local shop, home or studio and finding yourself surrounded by creativity. It feels personal, welcoming, and inspiring — exactly the kind of atmosphere we always hope to create at Lowie, too.

We’d love for you to stop by, discover Tara’s work, and be part of the wonderful spirit of Dulwich Festival with us.
