Easter Weekend Edit

It seems to have been a long slog after Christmas and just when you think you can get away with quitting dry Jan and all your positive New Years resolutions, the calendar throws you ‘LENT’. You probably tried to give up chocolate or sweets for a month to prepare yourself for gorging on multiple oversized chocolate eggs and perhaps some Simnel cake over the bank holiday weekend.
Here is the perfect must have list for a weekend break be it scrabbling around in the potential puddles of the UK or perhaps you have ventured far and wide in search of a bit of April sunshine.

New in brand Blundstone have the perfect all weather Chelsea style boots, in fact these are not just all weather, they are resistant to acid and microbial attacks!....whatever that means… Blundstone originates from Tasmania which is where Lowie owner Bronwyn is from. Anyway I don’t know If you will need protection against this in Padstow but they certainly will withstand family walks with the in-laws. The boot brand has remained in Tasmania since 1870 and retains its strong family values. Get a pair here.

Kings of Indigo are one of our favourite brands here at Lowie. They never cease to amaze us on their persistence to increasing their ethical responsibility and sustainability. Kings of Indigo use only recycled or organic cotton, their packaging is either made of recycled materials or is fully recyclable and they are members of the Fair wear foundation which ensures all employees involved in the production process are treated fairly and ethically and work in safe locations. So, not only do their clothes look and feel great but you can also brag to everyone about the above. This easy top is made of organic cotton and hemp, feminine and flattering. Get it here.

Graveney Gin
It wouldn’t be Easter weekend without a little tipple. Impress your pals with this organic gin by Graveney gin based just down the road from us in Tooting. A wonderful amalgamation of juniper berries, pink grapefruit, goji berries, baobab, fresh orange, orris root and angelica root (not sure what half those ingredients are but they sound fancy!). On top of the wonderful G+T’s you will be able to make Graveney gin gives 10% of their profits to care for rare mountain gorillas in Eastern DR Congo- pass me a glass. Get it here.

We have all our fingers crossed for sunny non-windy/coldy weather for the bank holiday but if the worst happens… at least be prepared. I think with the beast from the east still cropping up in conversations (this will probably carry on until we have a day where it is slightly too hot) we have to keep our wits about us. Graphic inspired knitwear brand Miss Pompom comes to the rescue from gusts and general down in the dumps. This bright pink mohair pom beanie will not only save a chilly head but also lighten the mood as you stand in the pouring rain at a national trust property. Get it here.

    Seapia Swimwear
Now maybe this is wishful thinking for an Easter break but some of you lucky lot may be jetting off to sunnier places, if so check these guys out. Seapia swimwear is an Australian swimwear brand with a difference making their bikini’s and swimming costumes out of recycled plastic bottles. Not only are they nice to the environment they come in bright poppy colours and they have a large array of different styles to suit all body types. And if you aren’t planning on getting that pasty body out anytime soon at least be prepared! Check them out here.
