The Prince Regent Reopens on Dulwich Road
Just a short stroll from Lowie, the newly refurbished Prince Regent pub in Herne Hill has reopened on Dulwich Road — and what a transformation.
I stopped by for a pint on opening night (it would have been rude not to) and returned again for a Sunday roast with my daughter. My verdict?
A lick of paint, mood lighting and subtle layout changes have completely elevated the space. Some of the updates are so seamless I couldn’t even work out what they’d changed — but it works. It feels warm, welcoming and polished while still keeping that proper local pub atmosphere.

Sunday Roast at The Prince Regent Herne Hill
We ordered sirloin roast and pork belly roast. Both were excellent — generous portions, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The Yorkshire puddings were enormous (why do they need to be quite that big? Answers on a postcard… or DM me!).
As someone who runs an independent shop, I’m big on customer service — and the team here were genuinely friendly and attentive. A solid 10/10 for service. This Friday 27th Feb, The Prince Regent will have it’s official Opening Night Party. I may have a spare ticket if anyone wants one – I know they are in high demand. Will we get free (or cheap) drinks? In any case, I can crawl home down Dulwich Road if needed.
Mino Pottery Painting Café Opens Next Door to Lowie
Another exciting new opening in Herne Hill is Mino Pottery Painting Café, right next door to Lowie on Half Moon Lane.
Some of our team recently visited for a (not-so-rowdy) evening of pottery painting over a glass of prosecco. Lowie will even be doing some special projects and a giveaway coming up soon … so watch this space.
